ARPi’s Art Show at the HPH
Transplanted Montreal native and Kitchissippi local ARPi is opening his newest collection at the Hintonburg Public House on Thursday April 3. The spray painter’s debut Ottawa show at Orange Gallery last summer was a blast with an inspiring collection of nature scenes, animal portraits and urban landscapes. Come see what he’s been up to all winter, this show promises to be a visual feast. Meet and greet with the artist starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Beers are Back in Town
There are few better ways to shake off the horrors of an extended polar vortex than enjoying some delicious local beer in a beautiful outdoor location. The Brewery Market is making a return to Hintonburg this year with their first event happening Saturday April 26. The location has changed slightly from last year, moving from Parkdale to Hintonburg Park on Fairmont Avenue. Beer for this event is supplied by Big Rig, Covered Bridge and Kichesippi breweries with food on hand from Stone Soup Food Works. The market runs from noon ’til 6:00 p.m. rain or shine (or snow?!?).
Shakespeare and Charity at GCTC
The Great Canadian Theatre Company and The County of Carleton Law Association present Shakespeare’s classic A Midsummer Night’s Dream to raise money to fund the GCTC and contribute a donation to the Caring and Sharing Exchange, a local charity that provides Christmas time and back-to-school assistance to those facing economic hardships. The production is being directed by Kitchissippi’s own Patrick Gauthier and runs from April 24 til April 26 with tickets going for $100 (with a $50 tax receipt). For those with budget in mind, there is a preview show happening on April 23 with tickets going for just $35.
