Fall 2016 program guide offers a wealth of recreation and leisure possibilities
While it’s tempting to pretend that summer’s going to last forever, fall is truly on its way, bringing both familiar routines and new possibilities. Many Kitchissippi families look to the Dovercourt Recreation Association for a broad range of aquatics, recreation and health and wellness programs. The launch of the fall 2016 Dovercourt program guide, enclosed in this issue of the Kitchissippi Times, means it’s easier than ever to explore the award-winning centre’s many offerings then sign up in person or online.
“Our fitness programs are really flexible, unlike a contract-type gym,” explains Trish Stolte, Director of Marketing for Dovercourt. “You choose the program you want, from regular fitness through to Seniors’ Gold Club. We have pass-based offerings and a la carte classes. Among the most popular adult programs are aerial yoga, TRX and spinning on our fleet of new bikes, along with aquafit, pilates and yoga.”

A natural offshoot of Dovercourt’s hugely successful summer camps is their before and after school program, as well as PD Day, Christmas and March Break camps plus kinderkorner for wee ones in the mornings, as a convenience for those participating in onsite programs.
In partnership with Bluesfest, the nearby Bluesfest School of Music and Art allows Dovercourt to offer a range of private and group lessons, club nights, uke jams, paint and popcorn sessions for families, glee club, band prep and a new Kids on Broadway program as well. Add in the Westboro Brainery where community members share their expertise, and it’s easy to see that Dovercourt has you covered for all your fitness and leisure needs.
