The Hintonburg Centennial 5k and Newswest Kids 1K Fun Run are among the most beloved running events in Kitchissippi, and the big day is coming up fast!
Race day is Sunday July 13 but it’s not too late to register for this important fundraiser for the Hintonburg Community Association. Online registration is open until midnight tomorrow, and people can register on Saturday from 10-4 at Cyclelogik.
Registration is only $20 for participants over the age of 13. Walkers and runners of all abilities are welcome.
We asked race director Lisa Georges, what she loves about this special pair of community races, and here’s what she said:
“This run encompasses the passion that is the Kitchissippi community. There’s something very unique about running through the streets of such a supportive community and sharing such a positive vibe with your neighbours. Watching the Newswest 1K fun run is such a treat! Kids and parents running, smiling and waving, as the supporters cheer them on. It truly is a family-friendly event.”
Not a runner? Check out the race route and cheer on the participants!

- There will be post-race refreshments and on-course water stations.
- Jog strollers are welcome on the course, but participants are asked to please leave their four-footed training partners with a friend!
